Fisher Design Refines Backstage Whiskey for the Premium Crowd

To become a respected competitor in the whiskey category, Darius Rucker's Backstage Whiskey brand team partnered with Fisher Design to reimagine their brand and elevate its position. The goal was to retain the heart of the brand while refining its presence to better resonate with whiskey enthusiasts and premium spirits buyers. Fisher Design worked closely with the Backstage team to create a range of brand directions—some reinforcing the original identity and others steering the brand into a more upscale space.

The project explored innovative packaging solutions designed to stand out in a crowded whiskey market. Concepts included the use of alternative materials, elevated finishes, and specialty printing techniques to give the packaging a premium, tactile appeal. The result was a versatile set of creative directions aimed at enhancing Backstage Whiskey’s story, increasing shelf impact, and positioning the brand as a distinctive and credible choice within the growing premium whiskey category.
